The bearings are not self-retaining. This means that the outer ring, needle roller and cage assembly and inner ring can be fitted independently of each other.
Needle roller bearings have a high load carrying capacity. Therefore they are extremely suitable for bearing arrangements where radial space is limited. Needle roller bearings without an inner ring are an excellent choice for compact bearing arrangements if the shaft can be hardened and ground.
